Porsche Celebrates 75 Years of Excellence
Porsche has marked its 75th anniversary with the unveiling of the Porsche Mission X, a groundbreaking prototype that embodies the spirit of this iconic sports car brand. The company claims that this vehicle will be the fastest production car ever at the Nürburgring, the legendary racetrack in Germany that has hosted motorsport events since 1927 and can accommodate over 150,000 spectators.
Features of the Porsche Mission X Prototype
The Porsche Mission X prototype boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio, delivering one horsepower for every kilogram of weight. This fully electric vehicle operates on a robust 900-volt system, making it one of the most powerful electric cars in the world.
Media reports suggest that the Porsche Mission X might potentially double the power figures of the Porsche 918 Spyder, the exclusive hybrid supercar produced from 2013 to 2015, which generated 875 horsepower and weighed 1,678 kilograms. This indicates that the new car could reach an astounding 1,700 horsepower, positioning it as the fastest production car available, even surpassing vehicles designed solely for the racetrack!
It is noteworthy that the 918 Spyder completed a lap of the Nürburgring in under 7 minutes on a track that spans over 22 kilometers.
The Porsche Mission X also features an entirely new design, drawing inspiration from Le Mans racing cars. It includes forward-opening doors and a glass canopy that protects the passenger compartment, which is shielded by a carbon fiber exterior.
This model includes color-coordinated seats for both the driver and passenger, equipped with six-point harnesses, a sporty steering wheel, and screens that resemble gauges positioned directly in front of the driver’s seat.
Dimensions of the Porsche Mission X Prototype
The Porsche Mission X prototype measures 4,496 mm in length and 1,999 mm in width, making it 152 mm shorter than the Porsche 918 Spyder, but 51 mm wider.
Overall, the Porsche Mission X is among the latest electric hypercars in the world, paving the way for a new, high-speed vehicle that promises to achieve unprecedented acceleration figures in the future.
