Since its establishment as an independent division in 2009, Ram Trucks has solidified its presence in the global market. Recently, the new Ram 1200 was unveiled to fans, media representatives, and exclusive clients in the United Arab Emirates.

Entering the Small Truck Market

With this launch, the Ram 1200 joins the small truck manufacturing line in the Middle East, allowing the brand to enter the largest segment for small trucks in the region.

Robert J. Higblum, President of the Ram brand, stated: "The launch of this significant truck marks the first step in expanding the Ram brand. This is part of a solid strategy to enhance the brand's presence in major markets outside North America."

The Ram 1200 is expected to be officially launched in 2017, available in single or double cab configurations, with three trim levels and options for gasoline and diesel engines.

Mechanical Specifications

Mechanically, the Ram 1200 will be equipped with two engine options: a 2.5-liter diesel engine and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. The first engine generates approximately 126 horsepower in standard mode, while the second produces around 130 horsepower. Both engines come with a standard manual transmission and have a towing capacity of up to 3 tons.

Mauricio Suarez, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, added: "This new truck allows us to enter a sector we have never competed in before, targeting a market that represents 90% of the pickup trucks in the region. We are confident that the Ram 1200 has significant potential in the Middle East."
