Introduction

Bus Station in Dubai

Following the failure of air conditioning systems in over 160 bus stations in Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is conducting trials at 100 stations to explore cooling and energy-saving solutions using solar power.

RTA's Contract with Right Angle Media

The RTA has signed a contract with Right Angle Media, the official company responsible for the bus stations in Dubai, to operate 650 air-conditioned bus stations. They are also considering redesigning the stations to facilitate air circulation in the event of air conditioning failure.

Statements from Yusuf Al Ali

According to Yusuf Al Ali, the CEO of the Public Transport Agency at the RTA, in an article published in Gulf News, they have a system that alerts them whenever there is a complaint about a station, and they respond quickly to repair the air conditioning. However, if the issue is related to energy, it takes more time to resolve. He added that they are working on extending power to all stations.
