The Auction and Purchase of the Plate
During an auction held by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, a license plate with the number D5 was put up for sale. A businessman named Raj Sahni, of Indian nationality, paid 33 million dirhams (approximately 9 million dollars) for this plate, becoming one of the few owners of a distinctive license plate in Dubai.
Undoubtedly, this plate will make Raj drive his Rolls Royce with pride through the bustling streets of Dubai.

Prices of Distinctive License Plates
While 33 million dirhams is an enormous sum, it still pales in comparison to the amount paid for a license plate numbered 1, which sold for 52 million dirhams (around 14 million dollars) several years ago in 2008.
