The Subaru BRZ may not be a widely recognized car in the region, but its news is noteworthy. The Toyota 86 is essentially the same vehicle, just with different badges. This collaboration between Toyota and Subaru aims to deliver an affordable sports coupe. Subaru manufactures the engine while Toyota handles the design. The good news is that it has undergone significant updates since its launch in 2012.
Exterior Updates
The BRZ features a new, lower front bumper for improved aerodynamics. It now includes LED headlights, marking the first time this technology has been used in any Subaru model. Additional features include:
- Daytime running lights.
- New braking system.
- LED tail lights and fog lights.
- New alloy wheel design.
Interior Updates
Inside, you may not notice significant changes. Updates include a redesigned leather steering wheel and BRZ badging. The interior features a 4.2-inch display.
Performance and Specifications
In terms of performance numbers, there aren't major improvements. The engine now produces 205 horsepower and 211 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The sports mode has been renamed to Track Mode, and hill assistance is now available. It is expected to hit showrooms starting September this year, with pricing close to the current model.
