2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray: The Fastest Electrified Corvette

The Corvette turns 70 this year, and Chevrolet has given it a birthday present. This present is the fastest Corvette ever made. Surprisingly, this iconic sports car from America has ventured into the electric world with the Corvette E-Ray.

Specifications and Performance

The Corvette E-Ray combines a 6.2L LT2 Small Block V8 engine with a 1.9 kWh battery pack located between the seats, producing a combined 655 horsepower.

Acceleration and Speed

Thanks to all that power and the instant torque of 595 LB-FT from the electric motors, the Corvette E-Ray can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Moreover, it can complete the quarter-mile in only 10.2 seconds.

All-Wheel Drive and Driving Modes

Power is sent to all four wheels, moving away from traditional rear-wheel drive, although the all-wheel-drive setup is rear-biased. The car features six driver-selectable modes:

• Sport
• Track
• Weather
• My Mode
• Z-Mode

Additionally, the E-Ray includes a unique Stealth mode, allowing for all-wheel drive at startup and quiet exits from home at a maximum speed of 45 mph.

Infotainment and Ride Quality

The infotainment system features an innovative E-Ray Performance App with three display layouts: Gauges, Dyno, and Data. The Gauges layout displays the car’s power output, while the Dyno shows graphs of power and torque across selectable time intervals, and the Data layout showcases electrical system performance and efficiency.

Significant effort has been put into the E-Ray’s ride quality, which includes Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 with three distinct suspension settings. The car is 3.6 inches wider than the Stingray and features a low stance. Standard tires are Michelin Pilot Sport all-season, with the performance package offering Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires.
