Introduction
After its debut at the Geneva Motor Show and receiving numerous positive reviews, the FT 86 Convertible concept made its way to the Middle East, presented by Al-Futtaim Motors – Toyota at the Dubai International Motor Show.
Car Design
The FT 86 Convertible is designed to blend the aesthetic and feel of a convertible with the exhilarating driving experience of the Toyota 86 coupe.

Technical Specifications
The prototype maintains the same dimensions as the Toyota 86 coupe with two seats. It features:
- 6-speed manual transmission
- 6-speed automatic transmission
- One of the fastest paddle shift systems in the world
Roof Features and Interior Design
The prototype is equipped with an electronic fabric roof and a rear window. The roof folds elegantly behind the rear seats, designed in a way that does not compromise rear space or trunk capacity.
The interior, crafted by Toyota Boshoku Milan Design, includes:
- White leather upholstery
- Gold carpet accents
Collaboration with Yas Marina Circuit
Toyota's focus on the youth market is reinforced by a partnership between Al-Futtaim Motors and Yas Marina Circuit. The two companies collaborated to launch the Yas Marina Drift School, featuring Toyota 86 cars and soon, Toyota 86 racing models for driving experiences at Yas Marina Circuit.
Toyota UAE Drift Team
Last year, Al-Futtaim Motors also established the Toyota UAE Drift Team, led by local driver Ahmed Al-Amri, who competed with an updated Toyota 86.
