Toyota announced that it is recalling approximately 340,000 Prius vehicles from the 2016 and 2017 models worldwide due to a brake issue.

Details of the Issue
The company stated that the problem lies with the parking brake, which may fail to engage when the vehicle is stopped. If the gear is placed in any position other than park (P), the vehicle could roll, potentially leading to a collision if parked on an incline, even a slight one.
Repair Procedures
Toyota has also announced the repair procedure to address this issue, which will be provided to dealers worldwide at no cost to Prius owners. The process involves adding specific clips to the top of the brake cable to ensure it functions properly.
