Volvo V40 Polestar: Performance and Specifications
Introduction
Like various brands, Volvo also has a performance version of their cars called Polestar. Now, they are considering a V40 Polestar. This is not a surprise, especially considering that Ford is developing an RS version of the Focus.
Performance Specifications
The Focus RS will be even more powerful than the Focus ST, potentially producing over 300 BHP. If rumors are accurate, the Volvo V40 Polestar will feature an all-new 315 BHP turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder engine from the next-generation XC90. Theoretically, this will enable the Polestar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 6 seconds, reaching a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Chassis Upgrades
Other speculations regarding the V40 Polestar include:
- Chassis upgrades similar to the V60 Polestar including Brembo brakes, stiffer suspension, and anti-roll bars.
- All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
Pricing Strategy
The price will be a crucial factor in determining the success or failure of the V40. It needs to be priced around £30,000 to effectively compete with rivals like the Audi S3 and BMW M135i.
