Like other brands, Volvo has sporty models known as Polestar, and it is now planning to release the V40 Polestar. This comes as no surprise, especially with Ford also planning to create an RS version of the Focus, which is even more powerful than the ST.
If the rumors are accurate, the Focus RS will boast over 300 horsepower. Therefore, Volvo must compete, and they can do so with a new turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder engine delivering 315 horsepower from the next-generation XC90. This setup will allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 6 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. Here are some additional details:
