Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Sets a New Benchmark
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has made waves in the performance EV segment by setting a new lap record at the Shanghai International Circuit. The electric hypercar, boasting 1,526 horsepower, outpaced the previous record set by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.

An All-Electric Rivalry Is Brewing
The competition between Xiaomi and Porsche intensified as the SU7 Ultra also beat the Taycan Turbo GT’s Nürburgring lap time by 20 seconds. However, Xiaomi's lap of 6:46.87 was set with a pre-production model lacking an interior.

How the SU7 Ultra Achieved the Record
With 435 more horsepower than the Taycan Turbo GT, the SU7 Ultra had a power advantage that allowed it to overcome minor driving errors. The Taycan Turbo GT was piloted by Lars Kern, a professional race driver, while Xiaomi used an in-house engineer.
