Less than a month after announcing a high-performance variant of its flagship electric vehicle, the "001", ZEEKR has unveiled some remarkable specifications for the ZEEKR 001 FR.

After describing the Tesla Model S Plaid as "boring," the Chinese automaker has presented its unique vision in the world of high-performance brands, as the ZEEKR 001 FR boasts impressive performance.

These are bold words from a car manufacturer that was founded in March 2021 and has introduced three electric models since then. Subsequently, in October 2021, the sedan model "001" began rolling off the assembly lines in China.

With the arrival of the ZEEKR 001 models in Europe, the Chinese company has not only expanded its lineup but also enhanced its global presence.

It appears that the company is also looking to establish its presence in the racing arena. In August, ZEEKR released a clever tweet announcing a high-performance version of the 001, dubbed the FR, which is its first luxury sports car. ZEEKR describes the 001 FR as a "new breed of monster," specifically targeting the Tesla Model S Plaid, indicating that the ZEEKR sports vehicle is serious about performance. Perhaps this is due to its four electric motors!

The ZEEKR 001 FR is ready for production. According to a recent press release from ZEEKR, the "001 FR" model features four silicon carbide motors, more than doubling the powertrain of the previous 001 model. The company states that these four motors work together to create a distributed electric drive system, supported by software and hardware technologies capable of adjusting the torque of each wheel in a fraction of a second.

Power and Performance

These motors combine to deliver an astonishing 1265 horsepower, enabling the electric sports car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.07 seconds. However, the vehicle is not just about speed; it also boasts rapid charging capabilities thanks to a 100 kWh battery pack supported by next-generation "CATL" Qilin batteries.

ZEEKR has clarified that the upcoming electric vehicle can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 15 minutes. By 2024, the Chinese company plans to expand its network of fast-charging stations to 1000 stations.

Long before that, we can expect to see the 001 FR on the roads, as ZEEKR has also revealed that deliveries will begin in October. To ensure the safety of others, ZEEKR confirmed that it will provide each customer with personalized training sessions to handle the performance of the new electric vehicle.

The company plans to produce 99 units of the 001 FR each month. While official pricing has not been shared yet, some reports suggest it may be around $138,700.
