Abu Dhabi Police Increase Patrols in Al Ain to Combat Reckless Driving

Campaign Overview
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police has increased the number of patrols in Al Ain city to spot dangerous motorists who perform menacing road stunts and race their cars, endangering and annoying other people.
Results of the Campaign
The campaign, which was carried out from June 10 to 20, resulted in the arrest of 130 motorists. The breakdown of arrests includes:
- 52 motorists held for reckless driving.
- 78 motorists apprehended for having speed boosters fitted into their vehicles.
The arrests occurred in several neighborhoods, including:
- Mazeed
- Al Dhahir
- Umm Ghafa
- Al Goa
- Al Wajan
- Zakhir
Legal Consequences for Reckless Driving
Brigadier Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, stated, “The law is strictly enforced against those who drive recklessly. Their motor vehicles or motorbikes will be impounded for a month, and the offenders will be referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.”
