Updates to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class
Mercedes-Benz has impressed the world with the launch of the new S-Class in 2013. This car quickly became a leader in the automotive world. However, it’s time for an update, and the German company has begun testing it ahead of the official launch. Some rumors suggest it will debut as a 2018 model, which is fitting since the S-Class was introduced in 2013 as a 2014 model, making four years a reasonable timeframe for changes.
Exterior Design
The images don’t reveal many details about the car. The exterior design resembles the current model. The main noticeable differences are:
- Headlights
- Exhaust
- Bumpers
While the design of the headlights remains similar, the interior LED configuration is different. The upcoming generation of the S-Class will feature Mercedes Multibeam LED technology. This innovation allows the driver to keep the high beams on while the sensors handle the rest.
Interior Updates
There are also some updates in the cabin:
- The 12" digital display appears larger and more modern than before.
- The multifunction steering wheel looks new as well.
- Mercedes will introduce gesture control technology similar to that in the BMW 7 Series.
- An automatic nine-speed transmission will be added.
