Introduction
In the realm of smartphones, everyone eagerly anticipates the technological advancements from Samsung and Apple. Similarly, in the automotive world, the luxury Mercedes S-Class garners the same kind of attention. This year, I can confidently say that the vehicle we have today, the 2018 Mercedes E-Class Coupe, offers us a remarkable glimpse into what we can expect from modern automobiles.
Main Specifications
- Engine: 2.0-liter / 4-cylinder
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Power: 184 horsepower / 300 Nm torque
- Top Speed: 240 km/h
- Price: 290,000 AED
Exterior Design
The new model is built on the same platform as the C-Class sedan, which provides it with a larger footprint in terms of length and width, resulting in increased interior space. Sitting in the back seat, I felt comfortable and noticed no cramped space.
Regarding the exterior design, the number of lines on the car has been minimized to enhance its elegance, featuring two prominent lines on the hood that add a sporty touch. The version we have today is equipped with AMG 20-inch wheels and tires that allow for driving even with a puncture.
Interior Design
With all the elegance and beauty of the exterior, the interior design is both simple and highly sophisticated. High-quality materials are used with a clear focus on the finest details:
- Light beige leather seats.
- Blue leather dashboard.
- Air conditioning vents inspired by turbofan engine designs.
- Dashboard featuring two 12.3-inch screens.
Technology and Safety
The E-Class AMG line comes with two high-definition screens that allow control over all vehicle functions. Some features include:
- A control dial and touchpad in the center console.
- Buttons and small touchpads on the steering wheel.
- A button that allows the driver to control all features of the passenger seat.
Driving and Performance
The E-Class is known for its quiet and comfortable driving experience, especially in "Comfort" driving mode. This is credited to its air suspension system. If you prefer a sportier feel, you can switch to Sport or Sport Plus modes for a firmer ride.
The E-200 model features a 2-liter turbocharged engine that produces 184 horsepower. Meanwhile, higher variants like the E-300 and E-400 come with engines generating 245 horsepower and 333 horsepower, respectively.
Verdict
The E-Class offers multiple options, which influences its pricing. The price of the E-200 starts at 220,000 AED, going up to 299,000 AED for the model we reviewed today. Make sure to consider the options that are important to you when making a purchase.
