2025 Aston Martin Vantage GT3: Racing Evolution and Prestige

Aston Martin and the Nurburgring have known each other quite well over the past several decades, where the British brand has won several accolades since the 1950s. Having arrived on the world stage in 2012, the Aston Martin Vantage went on to win its first World Endurance Championship (WEC) trophy, plus 11 other world championship titles along with multiple victories across national and international racing series. In all, the Aston Martin Vantage has 52 class wins to its credit.

Introduction of the 2025 Aston Martin GT3

In order to replace the 2019-introduced Vantage GTE and GT3 models, there is now the all-new 2025 Aston Martin GT3. Throughout June 2024, Aston Martin will be entering its all-new GT3 into three prestigious races:

• 24 Hours of Nurburgring
• 24 Hours at Le Mans
• 24 Hours at Spa

Three new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 cars were entered into the SP9 PRO, PRO-AM, and AM classes at the Nurburgring 24 Hours.

Partnerships and Race Teams

The organizing partners for this event were ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club) and Ravenol, a German oil company specializing in automobiles. One of the drivers behind the wheel of the 2025 Aston Martin GT3 at the Nurburgring 24 Hours was renowned Nordschleife specialist & winner David Pittard. Other drivers at this debut race included:

• Nicki Thiim - Two-time FIA World Endurance GT champion
• Christian Krognes - Norwegian racing driver
• Kuba Giermaziak - Polish racing driver

A previous-generation Vantage GT3 from the PROsport Racing team is also part of the series, taking part in the SP9 PRO-AM class. For its 24 Hours of Nurburgring, Aston Martin has partnered with Germany’s Walkenhorst Motorsport team, which had won the 2018 24 Hours of Spa and the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series, making the team a credible partner for Aston Martin's foray with its all-new GT3. In total, three partner teams participated across three classes in this year’s 24 Hours of Nurburgring.

Notable Performances and Achievements

Also participating in the SP8T and SP10 classes are two examples of the Aston Martin GT4, to be operated by Dörr Motorsport. The Vantage GT4 and Dörr Motorsport secured a one-two victory in the SP8T class in 2022, with a PROsport Vantage GT4 securing second place in the SP10 class. The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage GT3’s arrival comes right on the heels of the debut of the road-going all-new Aston Martin Vantage.

Technical Specifications and Features

The latest Vantage GT3 comes as an evolution of the recently-retired Vantage GTE and the older Vantage GT3, but it shares some of its mechanical architecture with the all-new Aston Martin Vantage meant for the road. Much of the GT3’s chassis is made of lightweight bonded aluminum, while the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine also shares its basic internals with the road-going Vantage.

Being a full-blown racing car, the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 has undergone extensive modifications, including:

• Extensive aerodynamic package that spans the entire length & width of the car
• Modern electronics
• Fully-revised suspension

The all-new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 has been built keeping stringent FIA GT3 and the latest LMGT3 class regulations in mind, with a total of 25 examples of this GT racer participating in over ten GT series races so far.
