2016 AMG World of Driving Performance Event in Abu Dhabi

Event Overview

Mercedes-AMG Middle East hosted an exclusive track event showcasing their largest lineup of Mercedes-AMG vehicles to date. The 2016 AMG World of Driving Performance event took place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, where almost all AMG vehicles were pitted against each other. This event served as a platform for AMG to demonstrate the power and performance of the brand to customers and media.

All vehicles were fitted with Continental ContiSportContact tires, showcasing the durability of their super sport range of tires.

Activities at the Event

The 2016 AMG World of Driving Performance is an annual event that attracts AMG enthusiasts from across the region. Participants experienced performance-oriented vehicles through various activities, including:

• Drag Racing
• Hot Lap
• Autocross
• Drifting

Drifting Challenge

Among the activities, drifting was the most challenging and enjoyable, where participants drove the C63s on a wet course with the traction off. The event included two rounds:

1. Round 1: Various AMG models tested on the YAS Circuit.
2. Round 2: Focus on AMG GTs on the open tarmac.

A drag racing event featuring AMG SUVs, including the G63, GLS63, GLE63, and GLE63 Coupe, was also planned; however, it could not commence due to inclement weather.
