Updates from Aston Martin

Recently, Aston Martin has been relatively quiet, with no new cars or updates on designs, power, or features. Many of their models began to feel outdated, which is concerning. Finally, Aston Martin recognized this and started revamping their designs. The first car to showcase this change is the DB11, marking the British manufacturer's decision to update the aging DB9 with a new model in this lineup.

DB11 Design

The new DB11 retains the essence of the DB series but features a distinct design compared to its predecessor. The new model utilizes aluminum and other lightweight materials, establishing a platform that will serve as the foundation for all future Aston Martin cars. The new design philosophy emphasizes functionality over form, ensuring that every design element serves a practical purpose. The gills behind the front wheels help relieve high-pressure air buildup in the wheel arches, channeling airflow to the rear of the vehicle.

DB11 Engine

In terms of performance, the DB11 is equipped with a 5.2-liter V12 engine. This is smaller than the previous 6.0-liter engine, but the new engine features twin turbos, generating 600 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the DB11 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 320 km/h. Additionally, it will also be available with a V8 engine. The 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine will be sourced from Mercedes AMG.
