Bee'ah Orders 50 Electric Trucks from Tesla to Enhance Sustainability in the UAE
Announcement at the World Future Energy Summit
During the World Future Energy Summit from January 15 to 18 in Abu Dhabi, Bee'ah announced its order for 50 electric trucks from Tesla, shortly after their global reveal in November. Bee'ah becomes the first organization in the Middle East to place an order for Tesla electric trucks, aiming to establish itself as a comprehensive environmental management company with this order.
Production and Usage Details
Production of the trucks is set to begin in 2019, with deployment expected to hit the streets of the UAE in 2020. The Tesla electric trucks will be utilized for waste collection and transportation, becoming a significant part of Bee'ah's fleet of 1,000 vehicles.
To contribute to reducing the company's carbon emissions, the electric trucks will be used alongside:
- Currently operational electric vehicles
- Compressed natural gas vehicles
- Biodiesel-powered vehicles
- Solar-powered boats used for cleaning lakes across the country

His Excellency Salim Al Owais, Chairman of Bee'ah, commented: "We are extremely pleased to partner with Tesla to find a solution that enhances our leadership in sustainable practices in the region. As a company striving to be the best in our field, we only work with partners we consider the best in theirs."
Benefits of Electric Trucks
The purchase of these trucks marks the first phase in the company's initiative to make its vehicle fleet environmentally friendly. These trucks will have the capability to travel up to 805 km on a single full charge, ensuring an operational lifespan of 1.6 million kilometers while carrying a payload of 36,287 kg.
