The BBC reported that Mike Newman, an ex-bank manager from Manchester, England, has set a remarkable land speed record for blind people, achieving an average speed of 186 mph.

At the Bruntingthrope Proving Ground, Newman, who is 52 years old, accomplished this feat in a Porsche 911. A spotter in a chase car provided directions via radio communication directly into Newman's helmet.
