Continental has been named Tire Manufacturer of the Year for 2022 by the international trade magazine, Tire Technology International (TTI). The German tire manufacturer received this prestigious award at the Tire Technology Expo in Hanover, Germany.
Selection Criteria for the Award
The selection criteria for this coveted award were based on technological innovations aimed at improving product safety and sustainability. An international jury of over 20 journalists and leading experts from the tire industry declared Continental as the winner of the award.
Continental's Achievements
Winning the award in 2022 marks the third time in eight years that Continental has achieved this honor, cementing its status as a market leader in tire manufacturing. This year's highlight in terms of innovation was the ContiRe.Tex Technology, which allowed Continental to replace conventional polyester yarn in the tire carcass with recycled yarn made from reprocessed PET bottles, enhancing its sustainability efforts.
