Introduction to Great Wall Motors' Showcase
Great Wall Motors (GWM) set the Shanghai Motor Show alight with its full range of electric vehicles. As part of its events planned, GWM invited more than 300 journalists and media representatives from over 60 countries and regions to its R&D Center in Baoding, China.
R&D Center Overview
The R&D Center spans 250,000 m2 and has a total investment of CNY 5 billion. It features:
- A complete R&D system
- Product development process
- Facilities for product R&D, styling, and engineering design
- Product trial production and testing
- Support for product verification and technology R&D
GWM provided journalists with a tour of its:
- Hydrogen energy R&D center
- Wind tunnel laboratory
- NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) laboratory
Commitment to Innovation
GWM has been striving to innovate, with R&D investment increased to CNY 12.181 billion last year. The Chinese brand boasts:
- 1,966 patent disclosures
- 1,650 patent authorizations
Future Developments in New Energy Vehicles (NEVs)
Currently, GWM has built a full-value chain structure of "solar energy-battery-hydrogen energy-vehicle power" in NEVs. The firm states that it will continue to implement its plans for:
