Process of Obtaining a Driving License
- Get an eye test.
- Take all the documents to the driving school of your choice.

- If you complete both tests without any issues, you'll receive your full Dubai license within a couple of weeks.
Specifics of the Driving Tests
The Theory Test
You will need to bring 2 passport photos and AED 200 for the test. The actual test consists of 35 questions covering road signals, hazards, and guidelines on safe driving. The first part contains 17 questions focused on general traffic situations, of which you need to answer a minimum of 11 correctly to pass. The second part consists of 18 questions related to the driving license, requiring 12 correct answers to pass. The last part is the hazard perception test, where you'll watch 5 videos and hit a button when you see a hazard or a dangerous situation evolving.
The Road Test
On your chosen date, go to the test centre with your passport, driving file, and 2 passport photos. Fill in an application form and pay between AED 200-300 for the road test. Once called, you will go to the designated car and have a few minutes to demonstrate your driving level. If you pass, return to the test centre to have your driving file stamped. After that, you will have your photo taken, and your driving license will be ready within a few minutes.
If you fail your road test, you will need to complete a minimum of 7 more lessons, apply for a new date for your next road test, and repeat this process.
