2016 Infiniti QX30: A Striking Compact Crossover
Introduction
The 2015 Geneva Motor Show carried many surprises for the automotive industry, one of which was the introduction of the Infiniti QX30 concept car, which is said to be more production-ready than it is a concept. This latest compact crossover sends a warning shot across the bows of its main competitors, the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
Exterior Design
The Infiniti QX30 2016, which is set to be available later this year, carries a unique aggressive styling that is extremely attractive. In comparison, the BMW X1 and Audi Q3 suddenly look quite dull.
The new design language adopted by Infiniti is strikingly good, while the design language of its parent company, Nissan, seems less appealing.
The Infiniti QX30 2016 resembles a reptile from Jurassic Park, lurking around its canyon and ready to jump at its prey at the slightest opportunity. Its body appears chiseled, designed to be strong and planted in the ground. We love this car!
Performance and Specifications
- The Infiniti QX30 2016 will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing over 250 hp.
- Power will be sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
- An AWD option will be available, utilizing the same excellent system found in the Nissan Juke and Nissan X-Trail.
The new Infiniti QX30 2016 and Q30 2016 will be based on the Mercedes A/B class platform, featuring a ground clearance of 19 cm, which is sufficient for mild off-roading, although we don’t expect much of that.
Market Expectations
Infiniti believes they can move around 60,000 QX30 and Q30 units in their first year on the market; however, we think sales could reach at least three times that number. This car is not just another offering; it is likely the best-looking compact crossover produced to date!
Future Models
Infiniti has many cars planned for their new model lineup, and we bet they will be great too.
