Overview of the 'Safe Summer' Campaign

The Sharjah Police in the eastern region have initiated an extensive campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of speeding, reckless driving, and driving without a license. The campaign, titled “Safe Summer”, began in July and will conclude in August.

Objectives of the Campaign

  • Reduce the number of fines issued during the upcoming months.
  • Encourage drivers of all ages to be more cautious and adhere to traffic rules.
  • Implement extensive road monitoring through checkpoints in the eastern region.

Target Areas

The campaign will focus on several key locations, including:

  • Khor Fakkan
  • Kalba
  • Dibba Al Hisn

Traffic Violations and Penalties

Fines will be imposed for various violations, including:

  • Driving without a valid license or necessary documents.
  • Having tinted windows beyond the permitted level.
  • Making fundamental changes to a vehicle’s mechanics.

Current Statistics

So far this year, a total of 2,351 violations have been recorded, with 23 cases referred to the public prosecutor in Sharjah.
