BMW Z5: The Anticipated Successor to the Z4

Introduction

Since the partnership between Toyota and BMW was announced back in 2011, there have been numerous rumors about the new Z4 / Supra. While the Supra has not garnered much attention, the successor to the Z4, which may be called the Z5, is making waves.

What We Know So Far

Details about the Z5 are still sparse, but several key points have emerged:

• The Z5 appears to be larger than the Z4.
• It is expected that the hybrid powertrain will not be featured in this model, as it is likely reserved for the Supra's successor.
• BMW is expected to incorporate a new turbocharged six-cylinder engine into the Z5.
• There may be an M version of the Z5 with over 400 bhp, aimed at competing with the likes of the Jaguar F-Type.
