Dubai Police has recommended a host of new fines to the Ministry of Interior, as reported by Emirates 24/7 News. The Ministry of Interior will decide on their implementation in the next few months.

Suggested New Fines

Here are some suggested fines that may soon be enforced:

  1. Driving with sunglasses at night in Dubai will incur a 200 AED fine.
  2. Showing "neglect and lack of attention" while driving will result in a 400 AED fine.
  3. Driving a vehicle in a manner considered to be a threat will incur a 1,000 AED fine.
  4. The fine for refusing to give your name and address to the traffic policeman will increase from 500 AED to 1,000 AED.
  5. Non-fitness of tyres will now invite a fine of 500 AED instead of the previous 200 AED.
  6. Driving a car with expired registration or driving licence will face a fine of 1,000 AED.
