Overview of the Lexus Design Award
Every year, Lexus organizes a prestigious design award based on a specific theme. The best aspect of this initiative is that the Japanese carmaker invites entries from designers of all ages around the globe.
2023 Theme: Design for a Better Tomorrow
The theme for this year’s award is ‘Design for a Better Tomorrow’. The entries should embody the brand's three key principles:
- Anticipate
- Innovate
- Captivate
The entries will be judged solely based on these three parameters.
Finalists and Prototyping Opportunities
Four finalists will be selected to build prototypes of their designs with the assistance of industry-leading experts. They will also receive funding of over USD 21,100 to bring their designs to life.
Participation Statistics and Webinar Information
Last year’s competition attracted 1,726 entries from 57 countries, and this number is expected to rise this year. Lexus will host a webinar on:
- Friday, 16 September: 18:00 KSA time / 19:00 UAE time
- Wednesday, 21 September: 06:00 KSA Time / 07:00 UAE time
This webinar aims to address the queries of creators and provide a comprehensive orientation about the awards.
