Pierre Abou Diwan achieved victory in the Micro Max category of the UAE Rotax Max Challenge championship for 2022-2023. He faced tough competition from top karting drivers during the grand challenge, ultimately emerging victorious and earning the respect and admiration of the audience.

Upcoming World Grand Finals

Pierre is preparing to represent the UAE in the upcoming 23rd Rotax MAX Challenge World Grand Finals, following his national championship win. The event is set to take place from December 2nd to December 9th, 2023, at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit in Sakhir. Nearly 300 exceptional drivers will participate in this thrilling tournament, which will be held at this location for the second time.

Pierre’s Reflections on His Achievement

Pierre stated, "I am very pleased with this victory that comes after great hard work and continuous training. I wish to thank everyone who helped me win this challenge - my team George Gibbons Motorsport (GGM), my coaches, and my school Lycée Libanais Francophone Privé Meydan, particularly my family, and parents, who have always been my greatest support."

He added, "Competing in the world finals with the best karting drivers from around the world is a great honor, and I am proud to be representing the UAE at this world championship."

Pierre’s Karting Journey

Pierre, who hails from Lebanon, has been involved in karting since the age of eight, showcasing his talent in the sport. He is currently putting in significant effort to prepare for the upcoming world challenge in Bahrain, marking a significant milestone in Abou Diwan's journey towards the global karting scene.

Getting Started in Karting

Pierre recalls, "My friend Ray, who also competes in the championship, was already karting and invited me to try his kart. As soon as I got into it, I asked my dad if I could do it regularly, and he agreed."

Training and Aspirations

Pierre dedicates two to three days a week to track training while also maintaining his physical and mental fitness. His mother ensures that he completes all of his homework and studies for exams ahead of time, especially during race weekends involving travel.

Aspiring to Formula 1

Pierre, like every other karting driver, aspires to one day reach Formula 1. Although he is aware that it is a challenging and costly journey, he remains unwavering in his determination to succeed in the field of motorsport.
