Following an impressive crossing of the Empty Quarter and setting a new record time, the Range Rover Sport has once again captivated us with its latest feat, dubbed the "Dragon Challenge" by Land Rover.
The vehicle successfully navigated 99 turns and climbed 999 steps to reach the legendary Heaven's Gate in China.
Expert Opinions
Phil Jones, a Land Rover expert, remarked:
"The Dragon Challenge was the toughest challenge I participated in. When we reached the summit, we weren't sure if we would succeed. Climbing to the top proved that the Range Rover possesses incredible power in this one-of-a-kind challenge."
Challenge Details
The Dragon Challenge began at the base of the legendary Tianmen Mountain Road, stretching 11.3 km, driven by professional Panasonic Jaguar driver He Bin Tang. Upon reaching the top, the second phase of the challenge commenced, involving a steep ascent up a 45-degree staircase consisting of 999 steps to the mythical Heaven's Gate.
Driver's Remarks
He Bin Tang commented:
"I have participated in Formula E and Formula 1 races, and I won the Le Mans 24-hour race, but this challenge was undoubtedly one of the toughest I have faced in my life. The Range Rover Sport performed exceptionally well, instilling confidence in me as it ascended the mountain and effortlessly climbed the steps to Heaven's Gate."
