New SaferCar.gov Website Helps Check Car Recalls

Introduction to SaferCar.gov

Recently, all we hear in the news is about cars being recalled, and GM has been the target of scrutiny for quite a long time. In response, US vehicle safety regulators have launched a website called SaferCar.gov, which allows customers to check for the possibility of recalls for any car brand simply by entering the unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Importance of the SaferCar.gov Initiative

This initiative is crucial because only 75 percent of recalled cars are sent back to the manufacturers by customers for fixing. The government hopes this website will increase that rate significantly.

Statistics on Car Recalls

  • This year, 43 million cars have been recalled in the US.

Future Aspirations for the Middle East

We hope and pray that a similar regulatory body and website gets launched in the Middle East region as well.
