Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge: A Luxurious Open-Top Tourer
Introduction
In a bid to attract younger connoisseurs of luxury, Rolls Royce incubated a Bespoke arm in March 2016 and assigned it with the responsibility of creating motorcars with more power and more exclusivity. The Black Badge treatment began on the Wraith and soon after followed on to the Ghost Series II, creating a bed of opportunity for the newly introduced Dawn.
Launch and Performance
Unveiled by Abu Dhabi Motors at Yas Marina Circuit, the Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge features more than an extravagant aesthetic upgrade. Claimed to be the deepest and darkest black to ever grace a production car, the rich hue is accompanied by a boost of 30 horsepower and 20 Nm, taking total figures to 593 horsepower and a tire-shredding 840 Nm of torque.

Interior Design and Features
Inside, the brand’s fastidious attention to detail is prevalent with threads of aluminum woven and bonded in carbon fiber for a technical fascia. The roof, which opens in a ‘Silent Ballet’, is also only available in black canvas, whilst the rear deck is finished in black leather. A nod to Sir Malcolm Campbell, the Infinity rating logo works as a reminder of a man who possessed the restless spirit that defines the Black Badge attitude.

Enhanced Driving Experience
With changes made to the transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, and exhaust, the 2018 Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge offers an enhanced feeling of urgency without diminishing its position as the world’s most luxurious open-top tourer. Since each Black Badge will be individually commissioned and optioned to the wishes of customers, in theory no two Black Badge cars will be identical.
