Dubai's RTA Partners with Emirates NBD for Installment Payments on Fines
Overview of the Initiative
In a bid to ease the burden of hefty traffic fines and costly parking cards, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has joined forces with Emirates National Bank of Dubai (EmiratesNBD) to allow motorists to repay fines and parking card fees in monthly installments. According to an official at RTA, there are various payment periods that can be availed through credit cards with zero interest.

Ahmad Al Kaabi, RTA’s Executive Director of Finance, stated, “The RTA has agreed with EmiratesNBD on a plan for payment of fines and fees of seasonal parking cards through interest-free installments over periods of three, six, nine, or twelve months. This initiative is aimed at easing the burden on owners of vehicles in paying for their fines and fees of seasonal parking cards through offering them longer payment periods with no interest.”
Bank's Involvement
Ahmad Al Marzouqi, Executive Vice President and Head of Retail Distribution at EmiratesNBD, commented, “We are pleased to be one of the first banks teaming with the RTA in the launch of this unique initiative, which offers our clients a swift, smooth, and flexible system for payment of fines and fees of seasonal parking cards.”
Accessing the Service
The service can be accessed either through the EmiratesNBD mobile App or at any RTA Points of Sale.
