Dubai Number Plate Auction: Unique Plates Honoring Sheikh Zayed
Overview of the Auction
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will allocate the proceeds from six distinctive number plates, representing milestones in the life of Sheikh Zayed, bearing code 'Z', to charitable activities in the forthcoming Year of Zayed auction on November 17th.
Featured License Plates
A total of 80 captivating license plates bearing 2, 3, 4, and 5 digits from codes 'J', 'K', 'L', 'M', 'N', 'O', 'P', 'Q', 'R', 'S', 'T', 'U', and 'X' will be available in the upcoming auction. The auction will also see the offering of the highly sought-after dual number plate 'AA88'.
Historical Plates for Charity
The six historical plates whose revenue will be allocated to charitable activities are:
- Z 1918: Marking the birth year of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
- Z 1946: Marking the year he took the reins of power in Al Ain city.
- Z 1968: Marking the first meeting between the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
- Z 68: Marking the first meeting between the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
- Z 1971: Symbolizing the year of establishing the federation and hoisting the UAE flag.
- Z 2018: Resembling the Centenary of Zayed in which we celebrate the glory and achievements of Sheikh Zayed.
Registration Details
Registration is possible through the website www.rta.ae or at Customer Happiness Centres located at Umm Al-Ramool, Deira, Al-Barsha, and Al-Tawar Municipal Center. Registration for the auction can be made on the same day of the auction (17 November) from 02:00 PM to 04:30 PM.
Participation Requirements
Participation in the auction requires the potential bidder to have a traffic file in Dubai. A cheque amounting to AED 25,000 must be deposited but can be redeemed in case no successful bid is made. An amount of AED 120 must be paid as a subscription fee.
