Aston Martin V12 Vantage: The Last of Its Kind
Before you get excited and drool all over your office chair by looking at the V12 Vantage above, we have some really bad news for you - this is *the* last Vantage that will have Aston’s thumping V12. Sorry but we just had to get this clear.
Performance Highlights
Right, now that you’ve wiped off your drool and tears, it’s time to look closely at this British monster and talk about its headline figures. The latest V12 Vantage features Aston’s iconic twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 engine which produces:
- 690 horsepower
- 753 Newton-metres of torque
As a result, the V12 Vantage can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds, and it can reach a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).
Aerodynamic Design
The most mind-boggling part is that this monster will produce 204 kg (450 lbs) of downforce at top speed. All that downforce is achieved through a new horseshoe-shaped cooling intake and a unique rear diffuser.
Power-to-Weight Ratio
Compared to the rather ‘standard’ V8 Vantage, this version has a better power-to-weight ratio and, as Aston claims, this is the ‘fastest’ and ‘fiercest’ Vantage ever made.
Bold Aesthetic Features
But Aston hasn’t worked all its magic solely on the engine. The British carmaker has given the V12 Vantage a bold silhouette with extensive use of carbon fibre on:
- Front bumper
- Hood
- Front fenders
- Side sills
- Deck lid
- Bumper
Braking and Suspension
Such a fast car needs serious stopping power, and the V12 Vantage delivers with:
- 410-mm front disc brakes with six-piston callipers
- 360-mm rear discs with four-piston callipers
All of this is nicely nestled behind the 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot 4S tires.
Additionally, the V12 Vantage features a brand new adaptive suspension system that includes redesigned anti-roll bars, new springs, bushes, and dampers. If this sounds overwhelming, Aston Martin also offers the Comfort Package.
Production and Availability
Only 333 Aston Martin V12 Vantages have been built, and all were sold out before the car was even unveiled. Deliveries are scheduled to start from the second quarter of this year.
