Hala Juniors: Safe Taxi Service for Children in Dubai

Introduction to Hala Juniors

Hala is the joint venture of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem, celebrated as one of the best ways to book a taxi in Dubai. Recently, Hala has launched Hala Juniors in collaboration with Mothercare and Champion Cleaners.

Purpose of Hala Juniors

The main aim of Hala Juniors is to facilitate travel for parents with children up to four years old by equipping taxis with child car seats. Currently, the Hala Juniors program includes:

• 150 taxis equipped with child car seats from Mothercare.
• Plans to increase the number of taxis with these safety features.

Features of the Child Car Seats

The child car seats provided by Hala Juniors have industry-standard comfort functions. Keeping in mind the pandemic, these seats have been sanitized by Champion Cleaners. Key features of the car seats include:

• Certification with United Nations standard ECE R44/04.
• A 5-point harness for enhanced safety.
• Special cushioning for newborn children.

Training for Hala Captains

Hala taxi drivers, referred to as Hala Captains, will receive face-to-face training on how to safely install the car seats into the taxis.

Pricing

Hala junior rides will cost an additional AED 5 more than the standard Hala service.
