Volvo S60 Polestar Review: Strong Performance and Sleek Design
Volvo, the renowned Swedish manufacturer known for its advancements in technology such as dual airbags and blind-spot monitoring, is celebrating the launch of an impressive new vehicle in partnership with Polestar. This is certainly one of their best cars in a long time.
The Polestar prototype S60 arrived at Dubai Autodrome, where we were invited to take it for a spin. Although its exterior resembles the standard S60, its performance is a completely different story.
Driving Performance
The Volvo S60 Polestar boasts a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder T6 engine, delivering a remarkable 508 horsepower and 575 Nm of torque. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 300 km/h.
To handle this power and speed, the vehicle is equipped with Polestar Brembo brakes at both the front and rear.
Compared to the standard S60, the Polestar model features modified cylinder heads, combustion gaps, a manifold, an air intake, and a dual stainless steel exhaust system measuring 3.5 inches. It also comes with a Haldex-type limited-slip differential, all-wheel drive, and a 6-speed manual transmission. These are just a few features that make the S60 Polestar prototype a beast on the road.

Interior
As for the interior, it includes all the essentials expected from a Volvo. There is a striking resemblance to the V40 R-Design that we had previously tested. The steering wheel, gear shifter, and seats are covered in Alcantara for improved grip.
Conclusion
Overall, I agree with Polestar racing driver Robert Dahlgren that this car is the best street vehicle from Volvo. It still retains the quintessential Volvo feel, but I hope its price is more approachable than its current tag of 1,200,000, which is a hefty sum to pay.
