Volvo V40 Launch in UAE: Safety and Performance Redefined

Introduction

Dubai, UAE - Volvo, the Swedish automobile manufacturer known for its commitment to premium safety standards, has launched the all-new Volvo V40 in the U.A.E market. As pioneers of technologies such as dual-stage airbags, seat-belt pretensioners, the innovative BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), and the world’s first pedestrian airbag, Volvo aims to achieve its goal of “creating the safest and most exciting car experience for modern families.”

The event showcased two configurations:

• V40 R Design: Available with T4 and T5 engine configurations.
• V40 Cross Country: Featured with a T5 configuration.

Performance Specifications

The bright red R Design V40 is equipped with a 2.0 litre T5 engine, producing 213 horsepower and paired with an automatic transmission, boasting all-wheel drive. In contrast, the stunning blue R Design V40 features a 1.6 litre T4 engine with 180 horsepower, also coupled with an automatic transmission.

The white Cross Country Edition V40 benefits from the T5 AWD platform. Key differences include:

• Increased suspension height of 3 cm.
• Additional 2 cm in seat height.

This means drivers of the Cross Country Edition gain an impressive 5 cm of height, enhancing their driving position and view of the road.

Exterior Features

In terms of exterior design, the standard model features horizontal LED daytime running lights, while the R Design and Cross Country Edition showcase vertical LED daytime running lights. Each variant has its unique grille and rear diffusers, with options for either 17-inch or 18-inch wheels.

Interior Comfort and Technology

The interior of the V40 is customizable, with the centre console and seats available in various colors. The comfortable, well-bolstered seats are crafted from a blend of leather and suede.

The V40 is equipped with an array of advanced safety features, including:

Notably, the V40 includes the world’s first pedestrian airbag system. Upon detecting a pedestrian impact, the front sensors activate, releasing and elevating the rear end of the bonnet with the deploying airbag, significantly reducing the risk of head injuries.
