YallaMotor's Electric Vehicle Buyer Survey

Launch of the Second Survey

YallaMotor, in partnership with Generation.e, has announced the launch of their second "Electric Vehicle Buyer" survey ahead of the "Smarter Mobility World" summit in March. This survey follows last year's, which gathered insights from over 3,800 participants across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, making it the largest survey conducted in the region to better understand the interest in electric vehicles in the Middle East.

Importance of the Partnership

This partnership was announced during the Green Leadership Series in Dubai, hosted by the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE) and the Dubai Science Park on Tuesday, January 21. During his speech, Ben Pullen, co-founder and CEO of "Generation.e", discussed the increasing interest in electric cars.

Previous Survey Results

The previous year's survey conducted by the largest automotive website in the region, YallaMotor, in collaboration with Global EVRT, highlighted significant challenges faced by potential buyers when considering electric vehicles. Key findings from the survey revealed that:

• Only 8% of respondents had driven or tested a fully electric vehicle.
• 51% of participants identified fuel savings as a key benefit.
• 49% noted the reduction of carbon emissions as important.

2020 Survey

This year's survey aims to determine whether public perceptions have changed in light of global and regional efforts to accelerate the transition to smart electric mobility. The results of this latest study will be announced at the Smart Mobility World summit, the first event of its kind that brings together thought leaders from business and government over two days, scheduled to be held at the Sustainable City on March 24-25, 2020.

He added that "last year's survey, which was the largest of its kind in the region, clearly showed a growing interest in electric vehicles."
