2014 Chevrolet Impala Review: Design and Performance

Introduction

The first time I saw the 2014 Chevrolet Impala was a few weeks ago. Its stunning silver-gold color amazed me, showcasing how beautiful a sedan can be. Since that moment, I have been eager to learn everything about this car.
Exterior Design
To be honest, this car is incredibly beautiful. In a market filled with Nissan Maximas, Toyota Avalons, and Ford Tauruses, the Impala stands out by adding elegance and style to its category.
- Beautifully sculpted hood.
- Headlights reminiscent of the Camaro.
- Perfectly sized body.
The entire car is both attractive and sophisticated.
Model Specifications
In our fully equipped LTZ model, we had 20-inch wheels. The size was substantial but complemented by the wheel arches, giving the car a harmonious appearance.
Rear Design
The rear of the car, particularly around the trunk, appeared somewhat large for this model. While it may not suit everyone’s taste, it provided ample space for the rear seats and an impressively spacious trunk.
Interior Design

Space and Comfort
Upon entering the car, you will be struck by the generous space. It’s not only roomy inside, but also features a number of practical storage compartments throughout the vehicle.
- The doors have large pockets.
- The center console is deep.
- There are pockets between the seats.
- A small storage area beneath the display screen.
Overall Design
The remaining interior design is very appealing. Most surfaces are covered in leather, and certain areas of the dashboard combine black and caramel colors, adding a luxurious touch.
Driving Performance
When it comes to driving, the car slightly improves its reputation. With a 3.6L V6 engine producing 306 horsepower and 356 Nm of torque, it accelerates from traffic lights with ease.
- City fuel consumption: 12 L/100 km.
- Highway fuel consumption: 10 L/100 km.
Safety Features
The car comes equipped with various safety mechanisms, some of which are effective while others are less so:
- Large side mirrors.
- Blind-spot monitoring.
- Lane departure warning.
- Parking assist alert.
Collision Alert System
The system activates only if there is an imminent risk in front of you, which may be annoying at times.
Conclusion
Our parents always told us not to judge a book by its cover, and this applies to the Impala. The car is exceptionally beautiful, but it may disappoint with its subpar materials and features.
Priced at 129,000 AED, the Impala is a decent choice in its class, but it’s not the best option available. You could invest your money in something better.
