2015 Honda Accord: Updates and New Specifications

The 2015 Honda Accord has been launched in Dubai, and it is now available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other Gulf countries. Significant updates have been made to the 2.4L variant, while changes to the 3.5L model are minimal. We experienced the 2014 Honda Accord last year, which raised some questions regarding the 2.4L model, thus explaining all the updates.

Key Changes

• 2.4L Engine: Now features direct fuel injection and a CVT transmission, enhancing power to 185 horsepower from 173 horsepower previously, and increasing torque from 225 Nm to 245 Nm.
• CVT Transmission: Honda has assured us that the CVT will operate quietly, and we will confirm this during our test drive. However, we did test this CVT in their 2015 Honda City, and you can read about that experience.
• Fuel Efficiency: The new CVT is said to improve fuel consumption by 7%.
• Acceleration Improvements: Linear acceleration has been enhanced, and we will verify this during our test drive.
• 3.5L Sport Model: Will come equipped with interior LED lights and electronic parking brakes.
• Hill Start Assist: Available on both 2.4L and 3.5L models.
• Production of the Sedan Model: Will be sourced from China instead of the United States, while the coupe will still be produced in the US.
