2017 Kia Cadenza: Specifications and Design
Introduction to the Kia Cadenza
Kia surprised attendees at the New York Auto Show with the unveiling of the new Kia Cadenza. Although the reveal was unexpected, it closely resembles the model launched in Korea last year.
Performance Specifications
The Cadenza shares its platform with the Hyundai Azera but, in my opinion, is far more attractive. It features a 3.3L V6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 338 Nm of torque, along with all-wheel drive. Initially, we hoped for a turbocharged engine option for the Cadenza, but that did not materialize. Given Kia's history of meeting customer demands, we remain hopeful for a turbocharged variant in the future.
New Updates
A significant change from last year's model is the upgrade to an 8-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous 6-speed automatic. Kia has enhanced fuel efficiency by incorporating these additional gears, marking the first instance of a front-wheel-drive vehicle with an 8-speed transmission in their lineup.
Car Design
In terms of appearance, the Cadenza features a stunning new design that resembles a Lexus ES. The interior is similar to last year's model but uses less fake wood. The car is expected to be available by the end of this year.
