Exciting News About the 2018 BMW X7
Introduction
There is good news for BMW enthusiasts and less favorable news for its competitor, Mercedes-Benz. Rumors suggest that BMW is preparing a large SUV for 2018, named the X7. This indicates that it will compete with vehicles such as:
- Cadillac Escalade
- Land Rover Range Rover
- Mercedes-Benz GLS
The Luxury Model of the BMW X7
An additional luxury model of the X7 is also set to be launched. This comes as no surprise, given that Range Rover has released the SV Autobiography and Bentley has introduced the Bentayga.
Statements from Ian Robertson
However, Ian Robertson, the sales and marketing director of BMW AG, confirmed to Auto Express that we won’t see the BMW X7 anytime soon. Their current focus is on launching the large SUV for 2018, which will resemble the X5 but will not be just an extended version of it.
Purpose of the X7
He added that the goal of the X7 is to broaden BMW's offerings in other segments.
Details of the Available Models
Robertson mentioned that the X7 will be available in two models:
- Model One: A 7-seater with foldable seats, priced below $100,000.
- Model Two: A 4-seater with a limousine ambiance, featuring a luxurious cabin and additional comfort features, priced above $100,000.
The vehicle will be built using the same carbon technology found in the 7 Series and i8. This means that the new Rolls-Royce SUV will also share some features with the BMW X7.
