Review of the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ
Many may not know that the name Malibu dates back to the third quarter of the last century. Chevrolet first introduced it in 1964, but it wasn't until the eighth generation in 2012 that it gained global recognition. Today, we are excited to explore the ninth generation with the 2018 Malibu LTZ and see how it compares to dominant players in the mid-size sedan category, such as the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, and Mazda 6.

Exterior Design
In this segment, I believe the Mazda 6 is the most aesthetically pleasing. The Malibu, however, features a somewhat traditional design with attempts at uniqueness. It manages to stand out from the side, especially with the version we have today, which includes a small rear spoiler. This model also comes equipped with daytime LED lights and 18-inch alloys that enhance its exterior appearance. I wish Chevrolet had given the Malibu the same front and rear design as the Chevrolet Impala.
Interior Design
The design and materials used in the Malibu's interior have diminished its competitive edge in this category. Starting with the layout, the dashboard has a completely symmetrical design, but the instrument panel and steering wheel are positioned directly above it, leaving remnants of the original design visible beneath the gauges, such as the leather piece over the air conditioning vent, which lacks any clear purpose.
As for the materials, aside from the leather on the seats, doors, and dashboard, the remaining materials are mostly low-quality hard plastics.
Technology and Safety Features
The Malibu compensates for its less-than-perfect interior design and low-quality materials with a wealth of tech features. Here are some notable specifications available in this version:
