Honda Motor has officially announced the 2021 Honda Accord, featuring a refreshed design and advanced features tailored for the GCC countries, Jordan, and Egypt. The announcement was made during a virtual event streamed on its YouTube channel and the social media pages of distributors across these regions. The 2021 Honda Accord boasts a renewed design along with updated features across all trims.
Design of the 2021 Honda Accord
The 2.0 and 1.5 Sport trims now present a distinctive look with piano black finishes and 18-inch alloy wheels, alongside a new interior color scheme and enhanced safety and connectivity features.
Exterior Design
The 2021 Accord's design has undergone a significant overhaul, featuring:
- New front bumper.
- Wider upper and lower grilles.
- LED headlights (2.0-liter turbo).
- Gloss black accents for the Sport trims.
- 18-inch polished alloy wheels.
Other trims come with redesigned 17-inch aluminum wheels.
Interior Cabin
The cabin, inspired by concert halls, offers continuous sight lines along with new upscale features that enhance comfort and usability.
The interior of the 2021 Accord starts with a beige color in the LX trim and above, complemented by leather in higher trims and options for a black interior.
Engines and Performance
The 2021 Accord retains its VTEC® 4-cylinder turbocharged engines, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Variable Timing Control (VTC):
- 1.5-liter engine with 16 valves and a straight-four configuration.
- 2.0-liter DOHC engine with 16 valves and a straight-four configuration.
Both engines are equipped with turbocharging, providing peak torque across a wide range of RPMs and delivering smooth, almost lag-free power.
Engine Specifications
The 1.5-liter turbo engine is coupled with Honda's CVT featuring G-Shift control. This engine produces 198 horsepower at 5,500 RPM and 260 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 5,000 RPM.
The new 2.0-liter turbo engine shares many characteristics with the 2017 Civic Type-R engine and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth and responsive performance.
This engine delivers 247 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 370 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,500 RPM.
