2024 BMW 5 Series: Specifications and Pricing

BMW has officially unveiled the all-new 2024 5 Series, codenamed "G60", which introduces an all-electric variant known as the i5 M60 for the first time, following the success of its predecessor, the 2023 BMW 7 Series.
This announcement comes just one month after the debut of the all-new 2024 Mercedes E-Class, as BMW reveals its latest competitor, the 5 Series. The Bavarian automaker offers a variety of diesel, gasoline, and hybrid engines, along with a fully electric version of its mid-size luxury sedan.
Dimensions and Design of the BMW
Although the exterior of the new 5 Series shares some resemblance with its predecessor, it features a relatively modest and conservative design, unlike the bold and controversial designs seen in models like the BMW XM and the new 2023 BMW 7 Series.
Additionally, the dimensions of the new 5 Series have increased significantly, with a length increase of 3.4 inches to a total of 5060 mm and a width increase of 1.3 inches to 1900 mm, providing extra interior space. The height of the vehicle has also been raised by 1.4 inches to 1515 mm to accommodate the battery size of the electric variant.
Interior of the BMW
BMW has made comprehensive changes to the interior, introducing a new design for the new 5 Series. Notably, the automaker has implemented a more advanced dual-screen setup, featuring the iDrive 8.5 system, which is also used in the recently unveiled i7 M70.

This version of iDrive boasts a user-friendly interface enhanced by the QuickSelect system. QuickSelect simplifies the user experience by providing direct shortcuts on the main screen, eliminating the need to navigate through submenus. Despite these advancements, the screen sizes remain consistent with other models, featuring a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen.
Engine of the BMW
The base i530 variant is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 255 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque with rear-wheel drive, a slight increase of 7 horsepower over the previous model.
Additionally, the BMW 540i comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine generating 375 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque with all-wheel drive. This version features an impressive increase of 40 horsepower over its predecessor, thanks to the mild hybrid technology that significantly enhances torque.
Reaching the highly sought-after fully electric 5 Series, BMW offers two electric variants. The first, the BMW i5 eDrive40, features a single rear-mounted electric motor generating 355 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. This version achieves a range of up to 475 km on a single charge.

The second electric variant, the BMW i5 eDrive40, features two electric motors with all-wheel drive, providing this version with greater power at 590 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque, achieving an astonishing 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, with a range of 412 km per charge.
Features of the New BMW
A groundbreaking feature in the 5 Series is the lane change assist using eye-tracking technology, marking its first integration into a production vehicle. This feature enables the car to autonomously execute a lane change with just a glance at the side mirror. While this innovative capability may raise concerns among some users, BMW assures that the system operates exclusively when the car's computer recommends a lane change, and the driver confirms the maneuver by checking the mirror.

Price of the BMW
The 2024 BMW will be available in the market starting in October, with prices starting at $57,900 (approximately 217,000 SAR) before VAT, reaching up to $85,095 (approximately 319,106 SAR).
