Lexus has unveiled the new ES, and this time the luxury sedan looks more poised than ever to challenge the German sedans.
Now in its eighth generation, the ES comes with a more angular look, an electrified powertrain options package, and a cabin that balances minimalist luxury with high-end tech—while still keeping the comfort-centric DNA that has long characterized the model.
A Daring New Design for Lexus' Executive Sedan
One glance at the redesigned ES is enough to realize Lexus isn’t playing it safe anymore. Gone is the somewhat conservative styling of its predecessor, replaced by a sleeker fastback-inspired silhouette that gives the sedan a sportier, more purposeful stance.

The 350e offers approximately 426 miles of range, and the 500e offers 337 horsepower and a good 0–62 mph time of 5.9 seconds. Both electric variants offer 150kW fast charging, so drivers can charge from 10–80% in around 30 minutes—perfect for those longer trips.
Through its combination of pointed new styling and an electrified powertrain, along with driver-oriented but hushed cabin surroundings, the eighth-generation Lexus ES appears ready to disrupt a tradition-rich segment for decades held by Ze Germans: BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
