If the Solterra represented Subaru's entry into the electric vehicle market, the Uncharted appears to dive deeper into this realm.

Joint Venture with Toyota, Clearly Subaru

The Uncharted is based on a platform developed in collaboration with Toyota, likely a version of the e-TNGA architecture. Although Subaru has not officially announced technical details, it is reasonable to assume that it will feature all-wheel drive with two electric motors—one for each axle. This aligns with the company's long history of symmetrical all-wheel drive, suggesting that this electric SUV will be capable of handling the most challenging terrains.

While performance figures have not yet been disclosed, Subaru is well aware of its customer base and can expect demand for a good range and solid off-road capabilities. In many ways, the Uncharted could be the electric equivalent of the Subaru Outback.

Interior Design Shared with Toyota

The interior is very similar to the new Toyota CH-R, featuring a large 14-inch infotainment screen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a small 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Additionally, wireless phone chargers are available in the front.

Subaru has officially confirmed a production version of the Uncharted for 2026, and it is reasonable to assume that much of the strong concept's appeal will carry over to the final product.

All Uncharted models will operate on a 74.4-kilowatt-hour battery, with Subaru expecting a range of over 300 miles for the Premium FWD model and 290 miles for the Sport and GT models.
