1995 Lotec Mercedes-Benz C1000: The Ultimate High-Speed Car

One such example we came across is the 1995 Lotec Mercedes-Benz C1000, a special one-off car capable of reaching speeds up to 430 km/h. This remarkable feat is particularly impressive considering the Bugatti Veyron entered the market almost a decade later. The ‘1000’ in its name signifies the number of horses under the hood.

The Creation of the Lotec Mercedes-Benz C1000

This bespoke car was designed to fulfill a U.A.E customer’s wish to own the fastest car in the world – a request that is not surprising to hear. Lotec took on that challenge and equipped the vehicle with:

• A 5.6 liter V8 engine from Mercedes-Benz
• Two turbochargers
• A 5-speed gearbox

All of this was enclosed in a carbon-fiber shell. The results were astonishing even by today’s standards. Here’s a brief summary of the performance statistics:
