If you have ever visited Abu Dhabi or lived in Abu Dhabi, you must have heard about the Emirates National Auto Museum. Why is it so famous here? It is because this museum hosts one of the biggest collection of cars in this region. This entire collection is owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. He’s popularly known as the Rainbow Sheikh because he owns 7 Mercedes 500 SELs in rainbow colors.

Another interesting piece of machinery here is the largest truck in the world. It is a replica of the 1950s Dodge Power Wagon but it is basically a home with bedrooms, toilets and balconies. It can also be driven as it had to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The museum also has the Benz Patent-MotorWagen. It was built in 1885 and is known as the first ever automobile. In other words, a vehicle that moves due to a combustion engine. It is powered by a 954cc engine and produced 2/3 BHP. About 25 examples were produced.

One more iconic vehicle is the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III. However, this is not any ordinary Rolls Royce. Instead, this particular model was used by Her Highness Queen Elizabeth II during her last visit to Dubai in 1979.

Then there is the Hummer H1. A famous off-road vehicle based on the Humvee. It was manufactured from 1992 – 2006. It was powered by a 6.5L V8 that produced about 300 BHP and 700 Nm of torque. The Humvee is a classic US army automobile used for its all-terrain capability.
